DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS

TUBE SIZE - The tubes are available as 250, 350 and 530mm diameter.

GLAZING/INSULATION - contributes to the overall thermal performance and reduces the risk of condensation when passing through a cold roof space by achieving a u-value of 2.2 W/m2k.

LIGHT AND SUN DEFLECTOR- A device fitted under the glazing which intercepts direct sunlight that otherwise would miss the reflectors at high and low incidence angles. Monitoring has shown that a south facing LSD can increase the light level at the ceiling diffuser by 20% or more in direct sunlight conditions.

FLASHINGS  - they can be made to match your roof covering and are available for both pitched and flat roofs.

STANDARD DIFFUSERS - are available as a circular ceiling fitting finished in white or chrome. Sunscoop diffuser

SKYVIEW DIFFUSERS - provide a greater spread of light and make the sky visible. They can be incorporated into the circular diffusers or they can be integrated into suspended ceiling systems.

LIGHT FITTINGS - The tubes can have an integral low energy light fitting (2no in 530 model) reducing the need for a seperate light fitting.

LIGHT DAMPER - An integrated damper to control the amount of light entering a room. Typically required in conference rooms, lecture theatres, classrooms and hospital wards. It is controlled via a wall switch.

FIRE PROTECTION - Collars providing up to 120 minute fire resistance to BS 476:Part 20:1987 for areas where tube pass through fire separation components.
