Heat Pumps - Air Source Heat Pump Systems
AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS
sp
Installing an Air Source Heat Pump is a straight forward and cost effective method of using renewable energy to heat a home. They operate by extracting heat from the outside air as low as -20oC and operate very well in UK ambient conditions and at normal UK winter conditions the units still deliver excellent efficiency levels.

Coefficient of Performance (C.O.P.)
At an external ambient of 7 oC, DeLonghi Air Source Heat Pumps can provide a COP of 4.22 this means that for every 1 kW of electricity used to operate the Heat Pump, the unit will deliver 4.22 kW of heat energy into the home. Warning! be aware that if you compare COP values they must be for the same air temprature. There are numerous air pumps on the market that have very low COP at below 0oC and below, resulting in an inefficent system. We will always provide you with a system suitable for your local climate and will provide you with COP data for -2oC and -7oC.
For specific model COP data see the individual leaflets in the technical data section at the bottom of the page.

“They use electrical immersion heaters to heat buildings”
Incorrectly sized systems will excessively rely on an immersion heater to provide heat. This tends to become a problem when a supplier has a limited range and is specifying a product outside of its normal operating guidance ie a small unit in a very cold location. The Green Building Site utilises the DeLongi Climaventa range because it is diverse allowing us to specify the correct product to the correct location. We have access to heat pumps that produce between 4.5KW to 250KW and that are designed to work at -200C.
