Goverment set to allow air source heat pumps without planning permission. - (20-11-2009)
The Goverment has released proposals for consultation to allow, homeowners, developers and businesses to install their own on-site wind turbines, and air source heat pumps without needing planning permission.
The proposal is expected to incorporate rules about size, noise, location and the visual impact on an area. These proposals would increase the microgeneration permitted development rights which already cover solar panels and biomass systems.
The proposals are also set to change the rules for properties such as offices, institutions, industries and farm properties. They will be able to make similar changes to their properties as well as installing solar panels which homeowners have been able to do since new rules introduced last year.
